I'm using Plone 2.1.2 and I can't get sdotNews running.
After unpacking it in the Products directory and retarting Zope it is not visible in QuickInstaller and in Plone Product Management Site.

What went wrong?

filesytem permissions?

Make sure that your plone user has read access to that directory - e.g.
'chown -R plone.plone sdotNews'
